I received the following email and EVP from a dear friend of mine back in May 2008. I can personally vouch for his upstanding character, integrity, thoughtful intelligence and knowledgable skepticism regarding the paranormal. Read his email to me, then play the ghostly EVP and kick up the volume to high...
Diane,
Remember in the last email I sent you, I said that because Megan had mentioned ghosts in my house- I would be checking for EVPs. Well... This morning I got a recording. Strange one at that. I set the recorder on voice activated, placed it on the newel post at the top of the stairs. I made sure all doors and windows were closed. I turned it on at 3:07am and went to bed. I was awakened a couple of times by the train whistles ( they don't usually blow them). When I got up and checked the recorder, the tape counter hadn't moved- but tape was used. I played it back, the first two segments picked up the sound of movement-which could be just a creaky 80 year old house- but then, after that, the train horn would start the recording, and be on it- more creaky sounds + a breathy sound. Then the train horn started up the recorder again, more creaky sounds, then a sound like heavy breathing, then as clear as day the breathing sound turns into the word "Coffee", in a long drawn out way (like if I put a few extra eeee's on the end of 'Coffee') This happened at least two times. Now I don't sleep walk. I don't talk in my sleep. I had everything turned off. My bedroom door was closed, as were all other doors and windows. If you call me I'l play it over the phone for you, if you are interested. You probably think I'm nuts. ...Mike...
What do you think it's saying? Do you hear it more than once? (I hear it three times). In my personal opinion, this i's one of the most convincing, powerful recordings of a ghost that I've ever heard. Stranger yet, if it says what Mike THINKS it says, it even makes me laugh while putting the most frightening shivers down my spine!
I called and asked him a bit more about the recording that you'll need to know as well. The recorder was sound-activated, so the clicks you hear are from the recorder clicking on and off whenever it picked something up. Also, these sounds were captured over a period of several hours, though we only hear the sounds one after another and not the long, silent spaces in between. m Considering all the precautions he took in his statement, can you debunk it? Please feel free to email me your own opinions.

GHOSTLY EVP #2
Same friend, two weeks later. This one's pretty noisy with clicks and squeals, but you can hear a breathy man's voice speaking at the same time my friend is giving the date and time. We believe it's saying, "Go to bed."
